This is only my opinion. DACA, like other executive orders and legislation passed within the past 17 years, is a great idea but bad implementation.
DACA allows certain illegal immigrants who entered the country as minors, to receive a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation and eligibility for a work permit. CERTAIN. This is for those who have stayed on the right side of the law except for their immigration status. To me, it seems as a way for them to get on the right path to citizenship. I like the idea of DACA because it gives immigrants a way to become legal. To be an American. How it’s manipulated by some who circumvent the laws, well that’s a different story.
Our nations immigration policy needs to revamped in its entirety. We do need border security but also need a way for those who want to have a chance at freedom and prosperity that the American Dream provides. But that’s different fight.
I have alot of ideas on how it can be changed and revamped that would benefit all parties involved. Maybe one day I’ll run for Congress and see if I can make a difference. Until then, all I can do is try to make our country a better place for all.
