I received notice that a former co-worker passed away. Bill was a great guy. We’d sit and talk every chance we got. He would tell me stories of his time in the Army, beginning as a Private in Vietnam to his retirement as an Army officer. He told me of his time on the White House staff. Great insights and advice from him always. He was always quick with a smile and a laugh. He bragged about his kids and grandkids all the time. He gave me alot of encouragement to live out my dreams and ambitions.
There are few men in this world that I respect more than him. I always called him sir because of it.
When I was leaving UoP, he and I promised we would stay in touch and we did lightly through Facebook.
He gave me a set of Oakleys that he was issued when he was in a Ranger battalion. He said that I would get more use from them than he would. I still wear them from time to time. Every time I do, I will remember his laugh.
You will be missed sir. Rest easy and roll tide.
