Yo, it fell off a truck!
I know, bad stereotyping. But when I read the article below this morning, it’s the first thought that came to mind.
You see it all the time. Objects flying out of the back of a pick up truck and just going in all different directions. I actually saw a pair of outdoor patio chairs on the side of the road this weekend. In the past I have seen sheets of plywood just catch some wind and fly out of the back of a truck. We see mattresses all the time too. But this story out of Louisiana is a little bizarre…
Motorcyclist Injured After Hitting Bathtub on Louisiana Interstate

COVINGTON, La. —
A boxed bathtub fell from the bed of a pickup truck and slid into a motorcyclist's path Saturday, critically injuring the 72-year-old rider, Louisiana State Police said.
Charles S. Warren was thrown from his motorcycle when it hit the bathtub, and was being treated at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, according to a news release from Trooper Louis Calato.
He said the motorcycle, the box and the bathtub all ended up in the grass median of Interstate 12.
The pickup's driver, Shain Autumn, 32, of Springfield, was booked with negligent injury and driving with an unsecured load, Calato said.
I sure do hope and pray that Mr. Warren will recover and be able to have the wind in his face again soon.
Just a reminder, please…
secure everything in the back of your pick up. Even an empty soda can will turn into a projectile at 65 mph. The same with throwing things out of your car window. Let’s not only try and keep the roads clean but also safe. Feel free to pass the word along.
Have a great week and ride safe!
